The Rickey Smiley Foundation Birmingham Alive Back to School Rally will be held Saturday, August 1, 2015 from 2pm-6pm at Legion Field located at 400 Graymont Ave W, Birmingham, AL 35204. This event is free and open to the general public. Birmingham Alive is a back to school event created to bring families and children together for an afternoon of family entertainment, games and recreational sporting activities. Birmingham Alive will be hosted by Rickey Smiley and the event will prepare children for the new school year by providing free school supplies to the first three hundred school aged children present. Get Ready! The R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Organization announces The 19th Annual Back to School Rally "Expanding the Dream!" Saturday, August 9th, 2014 12:00 noon

The R.E.S.P.E.C.T. rally reaches out to kids all over Birmingham, but focuses especially on those from inner-city neighborhoods, helping them prepare for the school year ahead by providing needed school supplies, and encouraging them that there is a community.
