NextGen Student Fellowship Objective
The NextGen Fellowship offers an exceptional professional experience for currently enrolled college and graduate students. Participants engage in an immersive, eight-week program working alongside City of Birmingham officials and professionals from the Birmingham community.
Throughout the program, fellows will develop a comprehensive portfolio highlighting their work and achievements. In addition to professional development, fellows will have the opportunity to give back by supporting Birmingham City School students through community reading initiatives like Page Pals, making a meaningful impact on both their careers and the local community.
Eligibility Requirements
- Currently enrolled college undergraduates or recent graduates
- Cumulative GPA of 2.5
- Flexible schedule for eight weeks
- Commit to 10 hours of work per week for the duration of the program.
- Attend all cohort seminars and workshops
- Complete application
- Must be a resident of Birmingham
